2023 Board Election Results

We would like to thank our members who voted and participated in this year’s Board of Directors Elections. Ballots were tabulated by an independent third party, and the results have been certified and provided to the Association. We appreciate your contribution to help strengthen our cooperative. The following stockholders were re-elected to the Board of Directors.

The individuals elected were:

  • Mark Platt, incumbent, fulfilling a three-year term in Gulf Coast Region 4
  • Richard Meadows, incumbent, fulfilling a three-year term in an At-Large position

Mr. Platt has been farming full-time for the last 23 years. He is co-owner of Platt Farms, a Washington County-based operation that includes 950 acres where principal commodities produced are poultry, cotton, peanuts, feed grains, cattle and timber.

Mr. Meadows has been involved in the farming business most of his life. Mr. Meadows is an area sales manager for WB Fleming Mineral Company, where he has worked for 16 years. He is also a partner in Meadows Creek Farm, LLC, a cattle operation partnership formed in 1985 focusing on seedstock production of Charolais, Angus, and SimAngus cattle where they also grow corn silage, grain sorghum, and small grains for cattle feed. In addition, he also raises commercial cattle and market feeder calves through SAFE feeder calf sales.

 

The Alabama Ag Credit Board is comprised of nine members that represent the diversity of South Alabama agriculture and forest products.: six elected by customer stockholders and three appointed Directors. Alabama Ag Credit's 2023 Annual Meeting was held on April 26, 2023. All voting stockholders received, by mail, a ballot with instructions on how to vote via mail or online. Voting was active from May 10, 2023, through the end of day June 1, 2023.
