2022 Board Candidates

Alabama Ag Credit's 2022 Annual Meeting was held on May 3, 2022, at 11am. Below you can read biographical information on each director nominee, as well as hear a recorded message from each candidate. All voting stockholders will receive, by mail, a ballot with instructions on how to vote. Voting will be active from May 13, 2022, through end of day June 6, 2022. The candidates' are listed in alphabetical order based on last name.


Position 1 - West Region 1

Name: Larry H. Gibson, Jr.
County: Pickens
Age: 49
Principal Occupation Last 5 years: Forestry Consulting and Timber Management

Business and Agricultural Experience: Mr. Gibson resides in Aliceville, Alabama with his wife Suellen and their two children. He is president and owner of Gibson Forest Management, Inc., a forestry consulting firm established in 1994, and Gibson Timberlands, LLC, a land and timber company. He manages approximately 60,000 acres of timberland for clients in West Alabama and East Mississippi where he provides complete forest management services, and owns approximately 2,000 acres of timberland where timber and wildlife are the primary commodities. Mr. Gibson is a member of the Alabama Forestry Association, the Society of American Foresters (past state chair), the Association of Consulting Foresters (past state chair), and Alabama Farmers Federation of Pickens County, having served on the boards of each organization. He currently serves as a member of the Pickens County Industrial Board (industrial development) and serves as chairman of the board of directors of Alabama Ag Credit (agricultural finance and related services). He is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in forest management, and is a trustee at Hebron United Methodist Church.


Name: Webb Holmes

Business and Agricultural Experience: Mr. Holmes resides in Marion, Alabama with his wife Marietta and their two children. He is the owner of Scott Station Cattle, LLC, a Perry County-based cattle operation started in 2007 which consists mainly of cow-calf and stocker/backgrounding operations. Mr. Holmes began farming in 2004 with Holmestead Company, a family-owned timber and cattle operation in Perry County, managing the company’s cattle herd. In 2007, he purchased a portion of Holmestead’s cattle and started his own cattle operations under Scott Station Cattle, while continuing to manage Holmestead’s cattle. In 2020 Mr. Holmes acquired the rest of Holmestead’s cattle, and began farming exclusively through Scott Station Cattle. Mr. Holmes’ cattle operation consists of approximately 315 head of cattle and 245 stocker calves on 1,650 acres of grassland. Mr. Holmes currently serves as secretary/treasurer (and past president) on the board of Perry County Farmers Federation (agricultural federation). He also serves on the boards of Central Alabama Farmers Cooperative (farm and recreational outdoor supplier), and Southern Academy (education). Mr. Holmes is a member of Alabama Cattlemen’s Association (past county president) and the Auburn Agriculture Alumni Association (past board member). In addition, he formerly served on the board of the Farm Service Agency for Perry and Bibb counties, and participated in the Alabama Leadership Initiative (class of 2011) and ALFA Young Farmers State Committee. He is a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in animal and dairy science.

Name: Chad Beasley
County: Macon
Age: 40
Principal Occupation Last 5 years: General Contractor – Commercial Construction

Business and Agricultural Experience: Mr. Beasley resides in Notasulga, Alabama with his wife Erin and their two children. Mr. Beasley is the owner of Beasley Construction Services, Inc., a Macon County-based operation started in 2018 and which primarily handles State of Alabama-governed commercial construction projects. Prior to starting his own construction company, he worked for a similar company for 11 years, working his way up to the role of president of the company. Mr. Beasley has been involved in farming his entire adult life. Mr. Beasley is a former partner in his family’s farming operation in Dale and Houston counties until 2017, with primary commodities produced being cattle, peanuts, cotton, and corn. He also owns and operates Beasley Excavation, LLC, performing land clearing, dirtwork, and dump truck services since 1999. He is a member in Beasley & Sons Farm, LLC, a trucking operation providing services in relation to his family’s farm. In 2013 he began his own farming operation, first in Lee County, now in Macon County, working up to over 400 acres, focused on cattle and hay production. In 2020 he and his wife established Beasley Land & Cattle, LLC to encompass their current and future farming operations. Mr. Beasley serves as president of Macon County Cattlemen’s Association (cattle promotion), and he also serves on the boards of Alabama Cattlemen’s Association (cattle promotion) and Lee County Cattlemen’s Association (cattle promotion). He is also a member of the Alabama Farmers Federation. Mr. Beasley is a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in Building Science.


Name: Annie Dee
County: Pickens
Age: 63
Principal Occupation Last 5 years: Farming

Business and Agricultural Experience: Ms. Dee resides in Aliceville, Alabama. Ms. Dee and her husband Ed have five children and six grandchildren. She has been farming all of her adult life. She is president and part owner of Dee River Ranch, a family-operated 10,000-acre farm where the principal commodities produced are corn and soybeans. In addition, Dee River Ranch has over 1,000 head of Brahman and Angus crossbred cattle, along with pine and hardwoods planted on part of the farm. Ms. Dee is part owner and manager of Dee Farm, a general partnership which runs the farming operations located at Dee River Ranch, and Dee Farm Equipment, LLC. The farm also engages in collaborations with several universities in irrigation research projects, and crop variety and fungicide trials. In addition to her work on the farm, Ms. Dee’s affiliations and board service include: the Alabama Soybean and Corn Association (agricultural commodity promotion), Pickens County Farmers Federation (agricultural federation), West Alabama Food Bank (storing and distributing food for hunger relief), Alabama Ag Credit (agricultural finance and related services), and the Advisory Board for the Soybean Innovation Lab administered through University of Illinois. Formerly, Ms. Dee also served on the boards of the United Soybean Board and the Alabama Soybean Producers. She has worked with the Howard G. Buffet Foundation on “Invest an Acre” and “Harvesting the Potential” programs, and she is a Soil Health Partner for the National Association of Conservation Districts. She serves as a lead farmer for the Farm Journal Foundation and is a member of Pickens County Cattlewomen (past president), New Era Arts Club (past president), and Corpus Christi Parish Council (past president). In addition, Ms. Dee serves on the advisory committee for Auburn University Forestry Department, NRCS State Advisory Board and Auburn University Integrated Pest Management. She is a graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Industries, and attends Corpus Christi Church.

The nominating committee selected stockholder nominees from each of the four regions to serve as nominating committee members and alternates. After determining the stockholder’s eligibility and willingness to serve, the committee submitted their slate of stockholder nominees to serve a one-year term on the 2023 nominating committee as follows:
